Couldn't get it to work with 7 so I tried a trick that was posted in an earlier review and it worked. But it did keep dropping signal. One thing people neglect to see is that the type of band this uses is not very stable and was quickly replaced with "N".

That being said it worked great for being a "G" card. Blame the card all you want but the outdated frequency's this uses isn't very stable and could just be an issue of both the router and card not coping together. However I found XP to be less sensitive then 7 when it comes to dropouts so that one of the reasons whey it works better. This is a BAD computer product. I've spent three nights trying to get my computer back to normal after the D-Link install program hi-jacked my computer.

It starts the installation process, then tells you to shut down the computer and physically install the product. Well, the software got stuck in a loop in the middle of the installation process. When I try to use Windows to uninstall the software, it goes into an installation loop saying "Are you sure you want to remove this software and all it's components? Conversely, when I try to install the driver software on top of the current installation, it goes into an installation loop saying "Are you sure you want to remove this software and all it's components?

I worked in the tech industry for 25 years. I know how to work computers. This is a genuinely bad product. Can I be anymore clear on my review?

Tech Support is worthless. They told me to call Dell tech support. Now why would I call Dell? The computer worked fine before I put the D-Link garbage into my computer.

This is a crappy product. Do not buy it. Sure, there are a couple good reviews, but if you have a standard Dell Computer running Windows Vista, you run the risk of losing your entire computer. See, now, the computer will not let me install ANY wireless adapter, rendering the computer useless. Kept getting kicked off the my wireless home network with this card where-ever I install the card on any computer, especially Windows 7. I just installed it on a year-old Windows XP Desktop and it doesn't have the issue as much, so I left it installed on it.

I'm sure you can fix this issue by tinkering with it. It has to be some issue with its networking that causes it to get Disconnected from the network.

Sure it has to do with the way Windows assigns the IP address to each new connection made when the Computer is turned on. As stated before, the issue rarely happens on my Windows XP machine so I left it installed there and move the modem to connect my custom gaming PC through Ethernet. Easy bypass solution, doesn't bother me. One person found this helpful. I installed this in my dad's aging computer running Windows 7.

He had been trying to use an old Lynksys WMPg wireless card that simply would not work with Windows 7. Please make sure your motherboard has an available PCI slot before purchase. Even if you have the expertise, finding, downloading, and updating DWA drivers can still be a tedious and messy process. For the time and effort involved in the driver update process, we highly suggest using driver utility software. These updating applications allows you to maintain the latest version of the drivers you need and generates a backup of your current drivers before installing a new ones. Using a backup driver system helps you to rollback any driver to the previous version if a problem arises.
